Sports speaker Kilian Jornet is widely regarded as one of the greatest mountain athletes of all time, an endurance icon who has redefined what is possible in trail running, ski mountaineering, and ambitious high-altitude projects. Born in Sabadell, Catalonia, in 1987 and raised in a mountain refuge in the Pyrenees, he has spent his life in the high places that remain both his home and his compass.
Across more than two decades, Jornet has combined elite racing with landmark human-powered expeditions. He has won the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc multiple times and set speed records on peaks from the Matterhorn to Everest, which he summited twice in a single week without supplemental oxygen or fixed ropes as part of his Summits of My Life project. In 2024, he linked all 82 of the Alps’ 4,000-meter peaks in 19 days in a project he called Alpine Connections, and in 2025 he completed States of Elevation, climbing all 72 of the contiguous United States’ 14,000-foot summits in 31 days, traveling more than 5,000 kilometers entirely by foot and bike.
Beyond competition, Jornet channels his experience into entrepreneurship and environmental action. He is the co-founder of NNormal, a footwear and outdoor brand built around durability, function, and responsibility, where he remains closely involved in product design. Through the Kilian Jornet Foundation, he works to protect mountain ecosystems and promote a more responsible outdoor culture, publishing his own carbon footprint each year and championing initiatives such as the Outdoor Friendly Pledge. A two-time National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, he pairs world-class performance with an uncommon sense of purpose.
As a speaker, Kilian Jornet offers audiences a rare blend of elite performance and quiet wisdom. He speaks on pushing limits with humility, the fast-and-light mindset and clear decision-making under pressure, resilience across days of extreme effort, and aligning ambition with responsibility to people and the planet. Audiences leave inspired to rethink success, embrace conscious performance, and pursue their goals with focus, discipline, and respect for the world around them.
Jornet translates the fast-and-light philosophy of the high mountains into high-performance decision-making: clarity under pressure, adaptability in uncertainty, and the discipline to respect limits before they become breaking points. Grounded in elite racing and extreme expeditions, this talk is about pursuing big ambitions with focus, humility, and intent.
Drawing on month-long, human-powered projects like linking the Alps' 4,000-meter peaks and the United States' fourteeners, Jornet explores what it takes to keep going through fatigue, doubt, and setbacks. A candid look at resilience, motivation, and the mental tools that sustain performance over the long haul.
As co-founder of NNormal, Jornet shares how real-world experience becomes meaningful innovation, and why durability, function, and responsibility are competitive advantages rather than compromises. A talk on values-led product thinking, long-term consistency, and building a brand without losing authenticity.
Through the Kilian Jornet Foundation and his own choices, Jornet examines what it means to align performance with responsibility. From measuring his footprint to protecting fragile mountain ecosystems, he invites audiences to rethink success in a way that respects the land, supports communities, and endures.
