Corporate culture speaker Jessica Neal is one of the most respected voices on company culture, talent, and the future of work, best known for helping build the famously high-performance culture at Netflix. The former Chief Talent Officer of Netflix, she is today a Venture Partner at the growth equity firm TCV, where she works with founders and executive teams to build organizations that scale.
Neal spent more than eleven years at Netflix across two tenures, helping the company evolve from a DVD-by-mail service into a global streaming leader. As Chief Talent Officer, she played a central role in shaping and stewarding the culture captured in the celebrated Netflix Culture Deck, an approach to freedom, responsibility, and candor that has influenced how companies around the world think about talent. Earlier, she served as Chief People Officer at the mobile gaming company Scopely and as head of people at the online learning platform Coursera, building teams through periods of rapid growth.
Since joining TCV in 2021, Neal has advised high-growth consumer companies on talent strategy and organizational design, and she serves on the boards of companies including JFrog and Public.com. She also co-hosts the TruthWorks podcast with Patty McCord, another architect of the Netflix culture, where the two explore leadership, authenticity, and the real work of building teams that thrive. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Neal brings a creative, human-centered lens to the discipline of building companies.
As a speaker, Jessica Neal gives audiences a candid, insider’s view of how truly high-performance cultures are built and sustained. She speaks on scaling culture without losing what makes it work, aligning talent strategy with business strategy, leading honest feedback and high-trust teams, and preparing organizations for the future of work. Leaders leave with practical, battle-tested ideas they can put to work, drawn from one of the most studied cultures in modern business.
Drawing on her years shaping Netflix's culture through hypergrowth, Neal shows how leaders can design and protect culture intentionally as a company expands, changes, and globalizes. She offers practical ways to keep values alive in everyday behavior rather than letting them fade as the organization scales.
Neal makes the case that people decisions are among the most powerful levers of company performance. She explains how executives can align talent, leadership, and growth goals, and how treating HR as a driver of effectiveness, not an afterthought, changes results.
Real culture lives in behaviors and systems, not slogans on a wall. Neal explores what it actually takes to change how an organization operates, from leadership habits and feedback to the structures and incentives that make new behavior last.
As work is reshaped by AI, remote models, and rising burnout, Neal explores how candor, clear expectations, and trust create teams that perform and endure. She shares how the best leaders balance high standards with genuine support, and prepare their people for what comes next.
