Rich Ting is an Emmy-nominated actor, producer, and entrepreneur whose path runs through Division I athletics, law, business, and Hollywood. A fourth-generation Asian American born in Los Angeles, he played football at Yale University while earning his B.A., then completed a dual J.D./M.B.A. before setting aside a conventional professional career to pursue his lifelong passion for acting.
Motivational speaker Rich Ting is best known for playing the formidable “Bolo” in HBO Max’s acclaimed martial-arts drama Warrior, a series rooted in the writings of Bruce Lee. He delivered another standout performance as “Captain Iijima” in the final season of Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle, and has appeared across many of television’s biggest franchises, including Chicago Fire, FBI, Magnum P.I., NCIS: Los Angeles, Supergirl, and Waco. On the big screen, his credits include the blockbusters Lone Survivor and Salt, along with the lead role of “Dynamite Davenport” in the Western feature No Name and Dynamite.
More recently, Ting played the ruthless Triad figure “Jackie Ming” opposite Sylvester Stallone in Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King, and Sgt. Tyson Koyama in On Call, Wolf Entertainment’s first streaming series. He has also brought characters to life in major video games, including SEGA’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei.
Off-camera, Ting is a multi-hyphenate executive. He serves as Chief Creative Officer at a multicultural advertising agency, co-founded a talent and brand management company, and sits on the board of the Bruce Lee Foundation, advancing Lee’s legacy through youth education, mental-health awareness, and character development. As an actor and producer, he earned an Emmy nomination for his work leading and producing The Destination Channel’s original series Staycation, reflecting his evolution from performer to creative force behind the camera.
As a speaker, Rich Ting turns an extraordinary cross-industry journey into a roadmap for reinvention. Drawing on his experience as an athlete, attorney, entrepreneur, actor, and executive, he speaks with authenticity about resilience, identity, and purpose-driven leadership, equipping senior audiences with practical tools to navigate change, build influential brands, and lead with the adaptability Bruce Lee called “being like water.”
Few people have reinvented themselves as many times as Rich Ting: Yale Division I athlete, sports journalist, attorney, MBA, entrepreneur, actor, producer, and executive. In this keynote, he unpacks how transferable skills, adaptability, and a clear sense of purpose can open doors far beyond any single career path. Ting shares candid stories from each chapter of his life, showing audiences how to move through transitions, build resilience, and treat reinvention as a strength rather than a risk. He also speaks to identity and representation as an Asian American leader moving between the worlds of business and entertainment.
Authentic storytelling is what separates brands and leaders that endure from those that fade with the next trend. Drawing on his work across professional sports organizations, entertainment studios, Fortune 500 companies, and talent management, Rich Ting explores how genuine narratives build audience engagement, loyalty, and cultural relevance. Attendees learn how individuals and organizations alike can craft stories that feel true, travel far, and create lasting impact.
The brands that win today don't chase culture; they help shape it. In this session, Rich Ting draws on his experience advising global brands, sports leagues, entertainment properties, and emerging talent to show why long-term cultural narratives consistently outperform short-term trend-chasing. He offers a practical framework for building brand ecosystems that stay relevant, authentic, and influential over time, giving marketing and business leaders a blueprint for cultural staying power.
Korean culture has become one of the world's most powerful economic and cultural exports, from K-pop and film to gaming, consumer products, and global fan communities. Through this lens, Rich Ting examines how cultural storytelling translates into real economic opportunity, brand affinity, and international influence. Drawing on his work managing recording artists, building global partnerships, and bridging Eastern and Western markets, he distills lessons any organization can apply when pursuing worldwide relevance.
Inspired by Bruce Lee's philosophy and informed by his service on the board of the Bruce Lee Foundation, Rich Ting delivers a deeply personal keynote on resilience, mental wellness, leadership, and growth. Through stories drawn from sports, business, entertainment, and philanthropy, he offers practical tools for overcoming adversity, embracing change, and cultivating a growth mindset. The talk also highlights the Foundation's mission of empowering young people through education, social-emotional learning, mental-health awareness, and character development, while keeping Bruce Lee's legacy alive.
