AI speaker Rahim Hirji is a keynote speaker, strategic advisor, and author whose work addresses one of the most important questions of our time: as artificial intelligence takes over more and more of what we do, what is left that is distinctly, valuably human? His answer is the subject of his book, SuperSkills: The Seven Human Skills for the Age of AI, published by Kogan Page, which argues that in the AI era the bottleneck is no longer output, but human judgment.
In SuperSkills, Hirji identifies the seven human capabilities that become more valuable as machines take over production: curiosity, change readiness, big-picture thinking, empathetic communication, global adaptability, principled innovation, and the augmented mindset. His framework, Drift versus Design, describes how leaders unconsciously hand their judgment to AI one convenient default at a time, and the deliberate choices they can make to reclaim it. It draws on his own research with more than 200 organizations across over 30 countries.
Before writing SuperSkills, Hirji spent twenty years building education technology. He founded the skills platform EtonX, scaling it internationally before its acquisition by Eton College, and led Quizlet’s international growth across more than 60 countries, with earlier roles at HarperCollins and Avallain. He now runs The SuperSkills Intelligence Company, an advisory and speaking practice working with leadership teams on how AI changes the work of thinking, and writes Box of Amazing, a weekly newsletter on AI and human capability read by around 25,000 subscribers. His book is endorsed by Harvard Business School’s Karim Lakhani and WIRED UK founding editor David Rowan, and he is a regular AI commentator on BBC radio.
As a speaker, Rahim Hirji is sharp, thought-provoking, and refreshingly human, helping audiences cut through the AI hype to focus on what people do best. He speaks on the human skills that matter in the age of AI, reclaiming judgment and decision-making from the algorithm, building change-ready and future-proof teams, and leading well through constant technological change. Having addressed leadership teams at Google, Barclays, and Kaplan, and taken the stage everywhere from the CIPD Festival of Work and London Tech Week to Imperial College London, he leaves audiences clearer, more confident, and reminded of their own irreplaceable value.
Most organizations drift. The best design. Drift asks nothing of you, because every single step toward handing judgment to AI is reasonable, yet a thousand unmade choices add up to an organization that has given away its judgment without ever deciding to. Design is the opposite: the deliberate decision to work out in advance where human judgment has to remain, and to build the work so it cannot slip out unseen. Drawing on research with more than 200 organizations, Rahim Hirji shows a leadership team which mode it is running, where AI sharpens judgment and where it weakens it, and hands them the controls, including the start of a “custody list” of what the organization has decided not to delegate. Built for executive teams, boards, and senior leadership offsites.
The suit amplifies; the human decides. AI is the suit: it makes everyone faster, stronger, and more capable, but the suit does not decide, the human does. In this keynote, carried by a family story spanning generations and continents, Rahim Hirji hands audiences the seven human “SuperSkills” that grow more valuable as the tools spread, along with his SuperSkills Ladder and the Augmented Mindset. People arrive thinking AI is the story; they leave knowing they are. Built for whole organizations, cross-sector conferences, education, and leadership audiences.
A live test of a board’s own judgment. As AI rewires how businesses run, human judgment is quietly leaving with it. Told in three acts and built specifically for boards, this talk ends with a live, real-time test that shows a board its own judgment in the room, a result no one forgets. Directors leave clear on what AI is changing in how organizations run, how their own board actually decides, and what to do next. Typically offered to boards from December through March.
Rahim also develops bespoke keynotes shaped around an organization’s specific theme or sector each year, alongside the flagship three, from how AI is reshaping a particular industry to the precise shift a leadership team is facing. Delivered in person and online, worldwide.
