Miranda Kwok is an award-winning showrunner, creator, writer and executive producer best known as the creator of The Cleaning Lady, the groundbreaking series now streaming on HBO Max and Netflix International after a successful four-season run on the Fox Network. She developed the series with Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment, turning it into a record-breaking hit that became Fox’s highest-rated new drama premiere and the most-watched Fox drama in Hulu history as of 2022.

She completed an Honors BA in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Toronto while volunteering as a counselor at a women’s shelter and a crisis center, where she found her passion to create stories that matter. Her first screenplay, about the so-called military “comfort women,” won the grand prize in the Slamdance Screenplay Competition, and her first spec script launched her television career.
A member of the Television Academy, the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA, Miranda is also an actor, motorcyclist, black-belt martial artist, rugby player and an unofficial 76th-generation descendant of the Chinese philosopher Confucius.
