Sports speaker Xavi Hernandez is a Spanish football icon and one of the greatest midfielders the modern game has produced. A graduate of FC Barcelona‘s celebrated La Masia academy, he became the metronome of Pep Guardiola’s revolutionary side and the on-field embodiment of “tiki-taka” — the possession-based philosophy that reshaped how football is played. Across 17 seasons in Barcelona’s first team, he lifted 24 trophies, including 8 La Liga titles and 4 UEFA Champions League crowns, placing him among the most decorated footballers in European history.
With Spain’s golden generation, Xavi orchestrated the most successful run any national team had ever assembled: victory at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and back-to-back UEFA European Championships in 2008 and 2012. His vision, weight of pass, and ability to dictate tempo from deep midfield set the template for a generation of central midfielders, earning him five IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker awards.
After hanging up his boots in 2019, Xavi began his coaching career at Al-Sadd SC in Qatar, where he won seven trophies and developed the tactical identity he would later bring back to Catalonia. In November 2021 he was appointed head coach of FC Barcelona, the club he had captained as a player. Inheriting one of the most turbulent moments in the institution’s history, he stabilized the dressing room, blooded a generation of La Masia talent now central to the squad, and led Barça to the 2022-23 La Liga title and the 2023 Spanish Super Cup before stepping down in May 2024.
Since leaving the Camp Nou, Xavi has been linked with elite roles across the Premier League, international football, and MLS, and remains one of the most coveted figures in the global coaching market.
As a speaker, Xavi Hernandez gives audiences an unfiltered look at what it takes to build, sustain, and rebuild winning teams under intense pressure. Drawing on La Masia’s player-development model, the Guardiola dressing room, and his own years in the Barcelona dugout, he addresses team chemistry, decision-making in high-stakes moments, and the cultural foundations behind sustained excellence — making him a powerful voice for any organization where standards, identity, and performance matter.
Xavi takes audiences inside the playing model that defined an era of football, breaking down how a clear style of play, shared principles, and total commitment to identity can give any organization a competitive edge — and what it really takes to make those principles stick under pressure.
A first-person account of life inside the most decorated team of the modern era. Xavi shares stories from playing alongside Messi, Iniesta and Ronaldinho, working under Guardiola, and what it really feels like to compete for trophies week after week as a player and as captain of FC Barcelona.
Few academies have produced as much talent as La Masia. Xavi explains the values, methodology, and culture that turn 8-year-olds into Ballon d'Or winners — and why the same principles of patience, identity, and long-term thinking apply far beyond football.
Coaching the club he loved most was the toughest challenge of Xavi's career. He reflects on inheriting Barça in crisis, rebuilding the squad with young talent, winning LaLiga in his first full season, and what he learned about leadership, decision-making, and managing expectations at the very top of the game.
