AI speaker Reid Hoffman is one of Silicon Valley’s most influential founders and investors, a thinker whose work has shaped the modern internet and now the age of artificial intelligence. He co-founded LinkedIn in 2003, served as its CEO, and grew it into the world’s largest professional network, surpassing a billion members, before Microsoft acquired it in 2016. Earlier, he was part of the founding team at PayPal.
Hoffman has backed many of the companies that define the digital era. He led Airbnb’s Series A financing and was an early investor in Facebook, OpenAI, and others. In 2009 he joined the venture firm Greylock, where he remains a partner concentrating on products that reach hundreds of millions of people and businesses powered by network effects.
Today Hoffman’s focus is artificial intelligence. In 2022 he co-founded Inflection AI with Mustafa Suleyman, and he has since co-founded Manas AI, an AI-native biopharmaceutical company working to accelerate drug discovery, which has become his primary entrepreneurial focus. After nearly a decade on Microsoft’s board following the LinkedIn acquisition, he is stepping back from that role to devote more attention to building in AI.
Hoffman is also a prolific author and broadcaster. He has written six bestselling books, including Blitzscaling, The Start-Up of You, and most recently Superagency: What Could Possibly Go Right with Our AI Future, an optimistic guide to the technology’s potential. He hosts the acclaimed podcasts Masters of Scale and Possible. A Marshall Scholar with a master’s in philosophy from Oxford and a degree in symbolic systems from Stanford, he was appointed a CBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 2017.
As a speaker, Reid Hoffman offers audiences a rare, insider’s view of how breakthrough companies are built and scaled, and what the rise of AI means for business and society. He helps leaders understand blitzscaling, network effects, and how to turn technological disruption into opportunity. Visionary yet practical, he equips executives and entrepreneurs to think bigger and act faster in a moment of extraordinary change.
Drawing on his bestselling book, Reid Hoffman makes an optimistic, clear-eyed case for artificial intelligence. He shows how AI can expand human agency rather than diminish it, from personalized learning and faster medical discovery to smarter decision-making across every industry. Audiences leave with a practical, hopeful framework for adopting AI and a sharper sense of the opportunities ahead.
What separates companies that dominate their markets from those that fade? Hoffman shares the principles of blitzscaling, his playbook for prioritizing speed over efficiency to capture massive opportunities. He explains when and how to scale aggressively, the risks involved, and the lessons he learned building and backing companies like LinkedIn, Airbnb, and Facebook.
From LinkedIn to the venture world, Hoffman has built his career on the power of networks. In this talk he explores how individuals and organizations can harness relationships, ecosystems, and network effects to accelerate growth, attract talent, and stay ahead of change. It is a fresh take on why who you know, and how you connect, increasingly defines success.
As one of Silicon Valley's most prolific investors, Hoffman has a unique vantage point on what comes next. He shares how he spots transformative ideas early, what today's AI breakthroughs mean for entrepreneurs and incumbents alike, and how leaders can position their organizations for the opportunities of the coming decade.
