Political speaker Mauricio Macri served as President of Argentina from 2015 to 2019, the culmination of a wide-ranging career across politics, business, and sport. Before reaching the presidency, he was elected Mayor of Buenos Aires twice, served as a national congressman, and led the Boca Juniors football club. TIME magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in both 2016 and 2018.
Macri’s path to national office was unusual. In 2005 he founded a new political movement, Propuesta Republicana (PRO), which first carried him to the Buenos Aires city government and, a decade later, to the presidency, breaking with roughly 70 years of two-party dominance in Argentina. Earlier, as president of Boca Juniors from 1995 to 2007, he oversaw one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, a run that brought 17 titles, 11 of them international.
As president, Macri inherited an economy facing significant challenges and pursued an agenda centered on institutional strength, the independence of the branches of government, and transparency. His administration launched a large public-works and connectivity program, including highways, rail, airports, and the rollout of 4G and fiber-optic networks, and worked to reintegrate Argentina into global markets. In 2018 he chaired the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires, putting Argentina at the center of the global agenda.
Since leaving office, Macri has remained active on the global stage. He serves as Executive Chairman of the FIFA Foundation, which uses football to support education and opportunities for young people, and leads the Macri Foundation, focused on education, social innovation, and the environment in Argentina. A member of the Club de Madrid, he continues to take part in the regional debate on democracy and development. He has lectured at Florida International University, speaks at universities worldwide, and is the author of the books Primer Tiempo and ¿Para qué? A civil engineer by training, he also studied advanced programs in economics, finance, and management at Columbia University and Wharton.
As a speaker, Mauricio Macri offers a rare, first-hand perspective on leading complex organizations and a nation through change. He speaks on positive leadership, building high-performance teams, decision-making under pressure, cultural transformation, and the role of dialogue and consensus in getting big things done. Drawing on experience that spans business, sport, and the presidency, he gives audiences practical insight into leading when expectations shift as quickly as a headline.
Drawing on a career as a CEO, president of Boca Juniors, founder of a new political movement, two-term mayor, and President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri reflects on what it takes to lead in a hyperconnected world. He shares strategies for driving deep, lasting change in organizations and society: attracting diverse talent, building trust, making sound decisions under uncertainty, and balancing short- and long-term priorities. Listening, dialogue, and the pursuit of consensus emerge as central methods, offering audiences a practical model for leadership rooted in participation and shared purpose.
In this masterclass, Macri focuses on personal development as the foundation for building strong, reliable teams. He combines core leadership concepts with practical tools participants can apply right away, from communicating ideas clearly to defining roles, structuring collaboration, and building genuinely high-performing groups. He also explores self-awareness, humility, and how to exercise power with integrity by surrounding yourself with people who challenge your thinking. It is a hands-on session for anyone looking to grow as a leader and build teams that deliver.
Having governed one of the region's largest economies and hosted the G20, Macri offers an informed, big-picture view of Latin America's place in the world. He examines the region's democratic institutions, economic prospects, and the global forces shaping its future, from trade and investment to technology and governance. Audiences gain a clear, experience-based perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing the region, and on what stronger institutions and international engagement can make possible.
Few leaders have made high-stakes decisions under more public pressure than a head of state. In this keynote, Macri shares how he approached difficult choices in moments of uncertainty, the role of courage and resilience, and how leaders can stay focused on long-term goals when the environment shifts as quickly as a headline. He offers practical lessons on keeping teams aligned, communicating in a crisis, and leading with steadiness when the stakes are highest.
