Political speaker Sir Jeremy Hunt is one of the most experienced figures in modern British government, having served in senior Cabinet roles under four Prime Ministers. He was Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2022 to 2024, Foreign Secretary, and the longest-serving Health Secretary in UK history, giving him a rare view of the economy, global affairs, and public services from the inside.
Hunt was appointed Chancellor in October 2022, during a period of market turmoil, and remained in the role through Rishi Sunak’s premiership, steering public finances through high inflation and slow growth. As Foreign Secretary from 2018 to 2019, he handled relations with the United States, the Middle East, and the Commonwealth in the period before Britain’s departure from the European Union. Earlier, as Culture Secretary, he was responsible for delivering the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
From 2012 to 2018 he led the Department of Health, where he made patient safety a national priority, pushed for seven-day NHS services, and secured around £20 billion in additional NHS funding. He later chaired the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee.
Before entering politics, Hunt taught English in Japan, where he became fluent in Japanese, and co-founded Hotcourses, an educational publishing business that grew into a global platform for international students. He has been a Member of Parliament since 2005, now representing Godalming and Ash, and chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Markets and Services. He is the author of Zero, on eliminating avoidable deaths in the NHS, Can We Be Great Again?, on Britain’s role in a dangerous world, and Can We Be Rich Again?, on the untapped potential of the British economy. He also writes a regular Substack newsletter.
As a speaker, Sir Jeremy Hunt offers an insider’s account of how economic, foreign, and health policy decisions are made at the highest level. Often appearing in conversation format, he speaks with candor about growth and productivity, geopolitics and security, and the future of healthcare. Business leaders, investors, and policy audiences value his ability to connect what happens in government with what it means for markets, organizations, and the decisions they face next.
Drawing on his time as Chancellor and his latest book, Can We Be Rich Again?, Hunt looks at why growth has stalled in Britain and much of Europe, and what it would take to restart it. He covers productivity, investment, capital markets, technology, and the role of government, and explains where he sees real reasons for optimism. Business leaders and investors gain an informed view of the policy forces that will shape markets, taxes, and opportunity in the years ahead.
Based on his experience as Foreign Secretary and his book Can We Be Great Again?, this session examines a world shaped by war in Europe, tension in the Middle East, and competition with China. Hunt explains how Britain and its allies are responding, what the shifting transatlantic relationship means for business, and how organizations can plan for a more volatile global environment.
As the longest-serving Health Secretary in UK history, Hunt made patient safety a national priority. Drawing on his book Zero, he discusses what health systems can learn from aviation and other high-reliability industries, how technology and AI can reduce avoidable harm, and how leaders can build cultures where staff feel safe to speak up. The session is valuable for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and insurance audiences, as well as any leader focused on safety and accountability.
Hunt’s most requested format is a moderated conversation, tailored to the audience and the news of the moment. Topics can range across the economy and public finances, financial services, geopolitics, healthcare, and leadership lessons from the Cabinet table, giving attendees the chance to hear candid reflections and put their own questions to one of Britain’s most experienced ministers.
